For just as the body is one and  has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.  1 Corinthians 12:12

  • Pastor paul sizemore

Paul C. Sizemore is a native of Holly Hill and was baptized here at Trinity as a child.  He remembers the building of our current sanctuary in 1964 and was confirmed here as a teenager. Feeling God’s call into the pastoral ministry, Paul attended Concordia University (then a two-year junior college) in Austin, Texas, then Concordia University Chicago (then Concordia Teachers’ College) in River Forest, Illinois, graduating with a degree in elementary and secondary education in 1977.  He then attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, graduating with a Master of Divinity in 1981. In June 1981, Paul was ordained into the pastoral ministry of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod at Holy Cross Lutheran in South Daytona by then Florida-Georgia District President Lloyd Behnken. His first call directly out of Seminary was to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Riverdale, Georgia, where he served until 1983. From 1983 to 1989 he served as pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Statesboro, Georgia. He then served to plant a new church, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina, from 1989 to 1998. In January 1998 he accepted the call to Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Columbia, South Carolina, where he served until returning here to his home church as pastor in October 2018.

Pastor Sizemore is married to Lisa, a schoolmate from Concordia River Forest.  Their family has grown to include their adult children plus seven grandchildren.

TRINITY ELDERS

The objectives of the Elders Ministry Team are the spiritual welfare of the pastor(s) and congregation, and the supervision of everything pertaining to congregational worship.  Whenever someone in our Trinity family needs a strong sense of belonging, elders demonstrate spiritual care that is strengthening and relational.

Elders assist the pastor in providing for the spiritual life of the congregation.  Elders are advocates through prayer for the spiritual, emotional, and physical health and welfare of the pastors and their families.

Elders assist the pastor during worship services with prayers, scripture reading, assisting with Baptisms, and distribution of Communion.  The elders each have a list of congregational members to whom they minister.  Elders, when needed, minister to members who cannot attend worship services by bringing Communion and comfort to their homes.

Each Trinity member is assigned to an elder.  If you don’t know who your elder is, please contact the office at 386-323-1691,tlchurch@cfl.rr.com or email our Head Elder, Morrison Obeng, at  obengmorrison19@gmail.com
